Booty Barre
Booty Barre is a fun, energetic group fitness class that blends pilates, dance, and yoga to create the perfect balance. Booty Barre uses small, isometric movement that focuses on the trunk and core that blasts the glutes, hamstrings, pelvic floor, and lower abdominals with high intensity, but without the high impact on joints that comes from many group classes. With the blending of pilates, yoga, and dance, Booty Barre sculpts and tones long lean muscles and reduces the appearance of cellulite leaving you feeling fit and fabulous!
This class empowers the health and fitness enthusiast. The small, isometric movement focuses on the trunk and core of the body without doing high impact movements that damage the body's joints over time. Though the range of motion may be small, it is still highly intense since you use the sister muscles to create proper pelvic placement throughout different series at the barre and uses movements to work the pelvic floor. The stronger and more aware you become throughout the pelvic floor and core, the more fit you can become.
All of the movement in Booty Barre stems from the pelvic placement and the core. The more aware an individual is with this concept, the more gains and safe the movement becomes, creating a fitter, healthier individual. Pilates focuses on the core, the powerhouse, of the body. With Booty Barre, balance and core strength is an integral part of the class. The dance and flexibility concepts that are used with Booty Barre takes this core strength and balance throughout all of the different sections of the course, creating the long, lean line of the body from the fingertips extended above the head, through the spine, and all of the way to the pointed toes.
The Booty Barre method is a perfect fit for what EquiVita stands for. The focus throughout the class is based on the individual. Movements are modified for all levels of fitness, and the great thing is, is that you do not have to have a dance background to enjoy the class. Sara, the instructor focuses on the individual's strengths and weaknesses to show you how to properly place your pelvis to create safe, challenging movement, so you can get the results you want to achieve.
