More thoughts on Your Yoga
Your Yoga is great for friends, couples, housemates, and families, this small group format has many of the same benefits of private yoga sessions but with extra company. You can each practice at your preferred pace, get answers to your yoga-related questions, and benefit from more individualized attention and hands-on assists than is possible in studio-based yoga classes. Of course this gives you the flexibility to be more creative with how you use your yoga. Perhaps you and your group would like to focus most on standing series, or seated postures. Perhaps you are a group or runners training for a distance event, and you need restorative poses once weekly. Or maybe you band together as a group and decide to focus on a spring detox flow.
Your Yoga gives you the flexibility to be more creative with how you use your yoga. Practice what you want, when you want, with a group of 10 students or fewer. Keep it small, keep it very focused.
We have two studios, one with a floating bamboo floor and low, sconce lighting, zone temperature control, and cubbies for personal storage. The other with a cork floor, lights on dimmers, zone temperature control and cubbies for personal storage. Likewise, EquiVita has complete yoga props and blankets for their students. Our location has 2 separate shower bathrooms, complete with toiletries, luxury hair dryers and towels.
We are ready to give you the space, the attention, and the experts to assist you with the yoga practice that’s right for you, when you can make it happen!

What is in a name?
Find out. Start your process today and you will be rewarded!
The name Equivita, originates from the chemical state of balance, equilibrium, and the Latin word for life, Vita.
Often you hear people talk about life balance as if it were something that you find. We believe that balancing life is much more dynamic and active, much more like the chemical state of equilibrium than a set of scales. Creating this balanced state of life requires integrating the many wellness factors into other aspects of your life.
Our programs and services are designed to fit within your life and are focused on helping you create your own ideal life balance.
Start your process today! Sign up for a 5Keys Fitness Assessment at Equivita, through the end of July, and receive a full hour massage free!
Massage for You
Massage for You
Adam Milligan, EquiVita
Massage every 4-6 weeks for everyone.
Our society has only started to realize the benefits of regular massage. Frankly, our approach of treating the body as a machine that only needs “fixed” when it is broken has left too many of us without the tools to understand how to best care for our bodies and to be preventive to many diseases.
Why on a monthly interval?
The body is extremely good at adaptation and will often develop adaptations that will enable performance of actions to be easier–sometimes at our expense. Having someone trained to feel the tissues of your body as a “check-up” can disrupt the biomechanical distortions at the beginning and not after they have developed into hardened and ischemic states.
Musculoskeletal Check-up
Much like other systems of the body, we will not be aware of problems in the musculoskeletal system until they have developed into a state of requiring attention. A Licensed Massage Therapist can find these restrictions before they develop into a problem. Some people consider their monthly massage as a check-up for the musculoskeletal system.
Known Entity
If you aren’t familiar, the phrase “known entity” is used in medicine with the understanding that through a longer relationship a patient can receive better care. A professional that knows you and your body will be better positioned to recognize changes to your body and to help you through any recovery. Regular massage is perfectly suited to create this foundation and EquiVita is a team of professionals that are experienced in putting you first. We specialize in working with people in wide varieties of lifestyles, life goals and needs.
Care of the Self
Aside from the biomechanical preventative and restorative benefits, regular massage can ensure you take time for yourself on a consistent basis. At least once each month, you do something that is just for you and caring for the body that you have.
Surprisingly, many people respond to the idea of taking time for them each month as a luxury. Sad, but true. Time for you is something that should be done far more often than one time each month. If this seems like a lot to you, then you need to develop a plan today. Put yourself as a priority on your schedule and realize the benefits to yourself and to those you care for.

Kick Ass Cardio and Fitness!!!
Kick Ass Cardio and Fitness
Cardio Kickboxing steps up to the next level. The Kick Ass Cardio class will
lead you through a progressive series of punches, kicks and moves designed to provide
you a complete full-body workout while teaching you the correct way to safely
throw a punch and land a kick.
The 6-week series is based on three concepts: introduce, adjust and unleash.
Deep breathing, meditation and yoga are all passive releases of stress and
energy and while being able to quietly control ones emotional state is a
necessary coping mechanism for our modern world there is another option; a
release that is the primal and instinctive use of ones body through the art of
physical contact.
Cardio kickboxing programs don’t provide the same physical contact that helps
relieve stress, build muscle and strengthen bone. Kick Ass Cardio & Fitness
introduces basic kickboxing techniques that are instinctive and easy to master,
and then it adjusts those same techniques on an individual level to increase the
intensity and bring you to the point of unleashing that energetic stress.
This class is about personal power. Accept the challenge and prepare to amaze
yourself.
Your body is always transitioning
What is Transitional Fitness?
Transitional Fitness originated as a natural progression from Physical Therapy. The concept was an after rehab design that would look at the individual more holistically, not just the injured area. The basic premise of a current evaluation and developing a plan toward goals remains the same. Over the years, however, it has changed to enable work with people from all backgrounds and activity levels. Your body is always transitioning. The question is whether it is moving in the direction that you want.
